This project consists of creating and running a couture training center for women from the douar Amchreg in Taroudant, who come from underprivileged backgrounds or are in a precarious situation. The initiative involves fitting out the establishment and equipping it with couture and embroidery machines, as well as setting up training workshops over a two-year period.
In the long term, the aim is to enable the beneficiaries to develop an income-generating activity, thanks to the marketing of their products, and thus to provide for their families. In addition, this program promotes the preservation of local heritage by passing on know-how to younger generations.
The Foundation's support
Abdelkader Bensalah Foundation participated in this project through Holmarcom Tadamoun program for two years.
Thanks to this commitment, 30 women were able to follow a training course in couture and to consider new activities.
The project holder
The association Echaraf pour le Développement et la Coopération was created in 2018 by young people from the douar Amcherg, in the province of Taroudant. Its objective is to support the economic, social, cultural and sports development of this small village. To this end, it contributes to the construction or rehabilitation of facilities, such as the mosque, the school or the irrigation system. The association also works with other organisations to promote literacy, pre-school education and Amazigh culture.
